Job summary

Kemper Corporation is seeking a Total Loss Adjuster to resolve claims identified as potential Total Losses. Review coverage, estimates, and charges to confirm Total Loss Evaluation and controls Rental/Loss of Use expenses.

Assignments include owner retained claims, commercial auto, heavy equipment, and cases exceeding policy limits. The role requires completion of required courses, state licensing, and performance evaluations that meet expectations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years property and casualty handling experience including total loss and negotiation of claims.
• Must apply for and possess timely licenses required by the state(s) assigned.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Review loss notices to determine exposure and enter exposures per Best Practices.
• Contact insureds and claimants same day or within 24 hours of loss assignment.
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies for settlements with insureds, attorneys, and others.
• Handle all claims within applicable state Fair Claims Practices Acts and regulations.
• Specialize in Total Loss, Salvage, and Title laws to facilitate transfer of title and claim resolution.
