Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Total Compensation Accountant to join the Global Compensation Accounting team. You will reconcile and analyze payroll balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring transactions are reported in the financial system, with a focus on accuracy, deadlines, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, organization and critical thinking skills
• Self starter with the ability to form conclusions and present findings
• Team player with the ability to work independently and willingness to take on challenges
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using AI tools to automate processes and drive efficiency gains
• Experience with ERP systems, Workday and/or Oracle
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Perform month and quarter end close activities, including journal entries, detail and summary level analysis of impacts to the balance sheet and income statement
• Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting schedules
• Support global Payroll Operations, Equity Administration, and Benefits teams with accounting knowledge
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal & Talent to ensure accurate financial statements
• Ensure SOX compliance with key controls & accurate GAAP reporting and fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements
• Support transitions and knowledge transfer, monitoring critical deliverables
• Leverage AI, technology, and expertise to streamline accounting processes
• Be a confident problem solver in a solutions-orientated environment
