Job summary

Nexans is seeking an Asset Manager – Topside Equipment to join our Vessel Management team in Oslo, Norway. You will act as the technical authority for topside cable laying equipment across our CLVs and barges, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance in a complex maritime environment.

You will lead upgrades, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement while collaborating with onshore and offshore colleagues, vendors, and OEMs to deliver safe, efficient operations and project

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from university or equivalent.
• Extensive installation and vessel operations experience.
• Strong technical experience with topside and cable laying equipment.
• Experience coordinating vendors and OEMs.
• Ability to lead and work with onshore and offshore teams.
• Shipyards/conversions/new builds experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical focal point for topside equipment.
• Monitor performance and data for safe operations.
• Provide remote and on-site support to vessel managers.
• Lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Manage modification requests and lifecycle planning.
• Coordinate with engineering teams and stakeholders.
