Job summary

Dunhill Government Solutions is hiring for a Tier II virtualization support engineer to maintain and troubleshoot enterprise VMware infrastructure including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN. You will act as escalation for Tier I staff and help ensure availability, performance, and security of the virtualization stack.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance, 1+ year VMware experience, and familiarity with ITSM (ServiceNow). Shift is 10am–6pm EST, based in Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or Associate degree + 2 years additional relevant experience; or 4 years additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 1+ years of VMware virtualization support.
• Experience with an ITSM incident tracking system (ServiceNow preferred).
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting VM performance, storage, and networking issues within a virtualized environment.
• Top Secret clearance required
• Shift is 10am EST - 6pm EST
• Security+ certification

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier II escalation support for VMware-related incidents and virtualization infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot VM performance, storage, networking, and HA/DRS configurations.
• Perform VM provisioning, cloning, templating, and decommissioning per change mgmt.
• Monitor health with vRealize/Aria and vCenter alarms; address capacity and performance issues.
• Document incidents and requests in ITSM (ServiceNow), meeting SLA.
• Assist with backup and DR processes (Veeam, SRM) and recovery testing.
• Support security hardening and remediation per STIG/RMF requirements.
• Collaborate with Tier I Service Desk to guide VMware-related tickets.
