Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality during modernization of a government information system. Focused on Java-based web apps, you will validate UI, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility, and develop test plans for upgrades including Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and SAP BI interfaces.

You will implement UI automation, manual testing, and API checks, while aligning with federal cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Strong UI testing expertise including UI validation and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with defect tracking systems and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Experience testing Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and SAP BI interfaces, plus Windows Server environments.
• API testing experience (Solr, RESTful services) is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Conduct UI validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
• Execute manual testing and validate cybersecurity and accessibility compliance.
• Test enterprise apps on Windows Server; test backend APIs (Solr/REST).
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
• Integrate tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and coordinate defect resolution.
