Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support modernization and deployment of a critical government information system. The role emphasizes hands-on GitLab CI/CD, Nexus, and Solr with ZooKeeper in production across Windows Server and AWS environments.

You will automate deployments, manage artifact repositories, and drive infra upgrades using CloudFormation/Terraform, while implementing security controls in hybrid on-site and cloud setups.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience managing Nexus Repository for artifacts and dependencies.
• Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production.
• Strong Windows Server administration expertise.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop IaC solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS.
• Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3.
• Develop containerization strategies for Java applications.
• Implement configuration management tools and practices.
• Apply security controls in both on-premises VMware and AWS.
• Monitor system performance and optimize accordingly.
