Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to support modernization and deployment of a critical government information system. The role emphasizes hands-on work with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Nexus Repository management, and building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.

The candidate will automate deployments, manage artifact repositories, and orchestrate upgrades across Windows Server environments while planning migration to AWS cloud

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Nexus Repository management experience.
• Building and maintaining Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation/Terraform).
• Infrastructure-as-code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Automate deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
• Manage Nexus Repository for artifact storage and dependency management.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain Apache Solr clusters with ZooKeeper in production environments.
• Administer Windows Server environments and orchestrate infrastructure upgrades.
• Plan and execute migration strategies from on-premises VMware to AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and related components.
• Develop containerization strategies for Java applications.
• Implement configuration management tools and practices.
• Apply security controls in both on-premises VMware and AWS cloud environments.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies.
