Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Joint Fires Network (JFN) NOC at Ford Island, Hawaii. The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification.

Responsibilities include real-time circuit redesign, incident documentation, and change management for optical and IP networks. Occasional nights and weekends may be required as this is a Mission Essential role, with duties spanning collaboration with DoD agencies and customers to ensure

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• Active in-scope US Government Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent).
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
• Knowledge of Transport and IP network topologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical muxes, routers, and switches.
• Perform real-time circuit redesign (alternate routing) to restore connectivity during outages and maintenance actions.
• Collaborate with internal/external customers and government agencies to ensure maximum network availability.
• Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific management tools.
• Carry out change management tasks including hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
• Use incident management applications to document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions across the service lifecycle.
