Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Engineer to provide infrastructure support for an enterprise program at Scott AFB. The role is full‑time and involves design, troubleshooting, and configuration of complex network systems across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in network engineering, CCNP certification, and a TS clearance. You will work closely with Government Engineers on architecture, change management, and platform optimization while ensuring secure, reliable network

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a network engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• CCNP certification required.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and enterprise networks.
• Knowledge of security practices for network architecture and IDS.
• U.S. Citizen with a current Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide network analysis and design to meet contract requirements and optimize performance.
• Support Government Engineers with Architecture, Change Management, and planning.
• Troubleshoot network issues at JBA/JBLM/SAFB and with EDI platforms.
• Configure and install A2G2 hardware per Government approvals at sites.
• Maintain baseline configuration and test software, patches, and directives.
• Modify configurations to support additional assets and operations.
• Install/replace equipment and train personnel on A2G2 standards at sites.
• Support test/evaluation gateways for DT&E and OT&E activities.
• Recommend configuration changes and identify new requirements to Government Engineers.
• Create scripts and tools to configure networked systems.
• Maintain servers with backups, updates, and disk management.
• Configure servers for secure connections and SNMP statistics gathering.
• Review and optimize routing, switching, firewall, and DNS configurations.
• Implement fault tolerance for disaster recovery on servers and devices.
• Support VoIP capabilities and related network services.
• Design and implement network transport solutions as directed by Government Engineers.
