Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to provide leadership and engineering expertise to a client at Hanscom AFB in Massachusetts in support of enterprise modernization and sustainment of mission planning systems.

You will oversee end-to-end systems engineering across complex software and data systems, guide performance and interoperability, and mentor the team in model-based systems engineering and architecture frameworks such as DoDAF/UAF.

Qualifications

• Top Secret Clearance required.
• Experience with complex, multi-tiered systems.
• Familiarity with mission-planning systems (JMPS/JOMS/CMP) or similar C2/aviation systems.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust, ICAM/IdM, RMF, cybersecurity engineering.
• Familiarity with ATO/ACO processes, AOC systems, JADC2 architectures.
• Experience in leading large teams through technical advisory.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for end-to-end systems engineering across mission-critical software and data systems.
• Guide engineers in evaluating performance, interfaces, and interoperability; offer technical recommendations.
• Lead development of enterprise, solution, and functional architectures using framework like DoDAF/UAF; mentor MBSE usage.
• Oversee design, development, testing, and sustainment of shared development environments and toolchains.
• Champion automated testing tools and modern integration practices; improve test coverage and workflows.
• Direct performance assessments, code-quality reviews, and cybersecurity evaluations.
• Provide leadership in implementing RMF-aligned cybersecurity requirements and system-security engineering best practices.
• Oversee data governance, metadata management, and interface documentation with authoritative data sources.
• Oversee configuration-management processes, baselines, and change requests with compliance metrics.

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for end‑to‑end systems engineering and integration activities across complex mission‑critical software and data systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and technical standards.

• Guide engineers in evaluating system performance, interfaces, and interoperability, offering technical recommendations that strengthen system reliability and mission readiness.

• Lead the development and refinement of enterprise, solution, and functional architectures using industry frameworks such as DoDAF/UAF, and mentor the team in applying model‑based systems engineering to document system baselines and future designs.

• Oversee the design, development, testing, and sustainment of shared development and integration environments, ensuring teams maintain tools, scripts, utilities, test artifacts, and security updates effectively.

• Champion the use of automated testing tools and modern integration practices, coaching developers and engineers to improve test coverage, integration workflows, and overall system quality.

• Direct performance assessments, code‑quality reviews, and cybersecurity evaluations, ensuring the team verifies functional, interface, and security requirements with rigor and consistency.

• Provide leadership in implementing cybersecurity, cyber‑resilience, and system‑security requirements, guiding teams through RMF‑aligned compliance activities, authorization documentation, and system‑security engineering best practices.

• Oversee enterprise data governance, data‑quality initiatives, metadata management, and interface documentation, ensuring the team develops and maintains logical data models and aligns interfaces with authoritative data sources.

• Provide oversight for enterprise configuration‑management processes, ensuring baselines and documentation artifacts remain current, change requests are properly reviewed, and metrics demonstrate efficiency and compliance across the engineering team.
