Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions, a high-tech manufacturer of mission-critical components, seeks an experienced Tool Room Manager to build a tool room from the ground up and establish workflows. You will oversee daily operations, manage a growing team, and ensure tools, jigs, and fixtures are available to support production with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has deep tooling knowledge, strong leadership, and Lean Six Sigma experience to boost efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in tool room operations
• 3+ years in leadership
• Experience with CNC machines, CAD/CAM, and tool design
• Experience establishing or managing kitting operations preferred
• Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience desired
• Experience with IndySoft or similar tool tracking systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and continuously improve tool room processes from the ground up
• Lead and develop a growing tool room team
• Establish structure, roles, and performance standards
• Oversee tool maintenance, repair, and inventory control
• Plan tool manufacturing, modification, and maintenance schedules
• Ensure tool availability meeting production needs with minimal downtime
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and quality
• Maintain records of tool usage, repairs, and inventory levels
