Job summary

Reader Precision Solutions in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Tool Room Manager to establish and scale a new tool room, building processes, workflows, and teams from the ground up. You will lead tool room operations, coordinate with engineering and production, and drive maintenance, inventory control, and tooling improvements.

The role requires a strong background in tool design, CNC/CAD-CAM, and Lean Six Sigma, with emphasis on leadership, budgeting, and safety compliance in a high-tech

Qualifications

• 8+ years in tool room operations with leadership experience
• Experience building tool room processes, workflows, and systems from scratch
• Experience with CNC machines, CAD/CAM, and tool design

Responsibilities

• Build, implement, and continuously improve tool room processes and workflows from the ground up
• Manage, lead, and develop a growing team of tool room personnel
• Establish structure, roles, and performance standards as the team expands
• Oversee tool room activities including maintenance, repair, and inventory control
• Plan and coordinate tool manufacturing, modification, and maintenance schedules
• Ensure tool availability meeting production needs with minimal downtime
• Implement preventive maintenance programs for tools and fixtures
• Apply Lean Six Sigma to improve efficiency and quality
• Monitor tool performance and drive improvements
• Maintain records of tool usage, repairs, and inventory
• Coordinate with production, engineering and quality teams on tooling issues
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Manage budgets and procurement in partnership with purchasing and engineering
• Support growth and scalability of the tool room function
