Job summary

Principal Manufacturing Corporation seeks a Tool Room Lead to oversee the Tool Room and die service activities, ensuring the production schedule is met. You will direct team members in the absence of supervision and coordinate with engineering and production to prioritize tooling work.

Responsibilities include tool/die build up, repairs, scheduling, and maintenance; establishing repair standards; tracking tooling life; and promoting safe practices and housekeeping in the department.

Qualifications

• Must have machine shop tech certification or equivalent.
• Journeyman die tooling card is required.
• Experience with large die cast tooling is essential.
• Proven ability to train others on measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tool room and die service/build up activities, including scheduling and PM.
• Perform die build up/teardown; repair die cavities to print standards; operate workshop equipment.
• Manage tool/die work sequencing and prioritize with engineering/production.
• Maintain tooling schedule, establish repair standards, and assess tooling life.
• Track tool life and recommend replacements; maintain department equipment.
• Develop countermeasures for production problems and drive process improvements.
• Ensure housekeeping, tool/inventory control, and safe tooling practices.
• Contribute to positive work environment through teamwork and professional conduct.
