American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Toolmaker Technician for our Three Rivers, MI facility. The role involves hands-on toolmaking with precision measurement, blueprint interpretation, and gauge calibration within automotive manufacturing.

You will operate Zeiss CMM and Calypso systems, read complex drawings with GD&T, and collaborate with engineering on print tolerancing. Union site with overtime and shift flexibility.

Qualifications

• Possess a certified journeyperson's card or provide documentation of eight years in Tool Making.
• Overtime and flexible schedule required as per union facility agreement.
• Available to work any shift as required.
• Pass pre-employment physical including drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program Zeiss CMM hardware and software (qualifying, probe setting, diagnostics).
• Perform Calypso operations (fixturing, dimensioning) and read blueprints.
• Interpret GD&T on complex drawings and 3D CAD models; calibrate gauges per ASME.
• Enter and track plant gauges in IQS; repair and maintain gauge inventory.
• Travel to offsite ROMF & ATDC locations as needed; support engineering print tolerancing.
