Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Tooling Inspector to support gauges, tools, and measurement systems on the factory floor in Michigan. The role covers calibrations, tool setup, and collaboration with engineers to evaluate parts and process quality.

Candidates should have a bona fide Toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent experience and be adept with Zeiss, Klingelnberg, Marposs, and Mitutoyo equipment, as well as reading blueprints and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a bona fide Toolmaker apprenticeship or 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with precision measuring devices and gauge repair.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret measurement characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Perform yearly surveillance and calibration on gauges.
• Write programs for Zeiss and Klingelnberg equipment.
• Measure parts per blueprint and engineering direction.
• Work with Engineers to evaluate parts.
• Maintain gauge benches and software updates.
• Support preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Enter gauge repair data into the Maximo/IT systems.
