Job summary

General Motors Manufacturing - USA in Buffalo, NY is seeking qualified Mechanical Journeypersons (Toolmaker) to work with minimal supervision and high independence on maintenance, repair, and fabrication of complex production equipment.

The position requires at least six years in a mechanical trade or a recognized DOL certificate, ability to read blueprints, operate CNC tools, and a strong commitment to safety and overtime when needed. Relocation or immigration sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of mechanical trade experience or a U.S. DOL certificate.
• Ability to pass GM hiring process including assessments and background check.
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Read blueprints and interpret layouts for conveyors, robots, and automation systems.
• Operate CNC lathes, mills, and grinders to meet prescribed dimensions.
• Lay out, assemble, fabricate, and repair piping systems and fittings.
• Adhere to safety procedures per OSHA and GM procedures.
