Job summary

Qualifications

• At least six years of related experience as a Toolmaker or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a mechanical trade.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete GM hiring process including assessments, drug test, and background check.
• Must be 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
• This position may be filled as Journeyperson or Journeyperson In Training with compensation tied to status.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical components on industrial machinery.
• Set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools to shape parts to specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools.
• Determine quality of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
