General Motors (GM) seeks qualified Mechanical Journeypersons (Pipefitters) to work under minimal supervision on industrial machinery and automation systems. The role involves maintenance, fabrication, and repair of piping, hydraulic and mechanical components, with duties spanning layout, measurement, and the use of CNC tools.

Applicants should have 6+ years in a mechanical trade or a related U.S. DOL certificate, and be able to work flexible shifts, including overtime.

Qualificações

• Six or more years in a mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor certificate.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for mechanical operation and assembly.
• Experience with machine tools and basic fabrication equipment is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Follow safety procedures per OSHA and company rules.
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain piping systems and related fittings.
• Read blueprints for conveyor systems, robots, and automation.
• Operate CNC tools to shape parts to prescribed dimensions.
• Set up and operate equipment like forklifts and cranes as required.
• Plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools or assemblies using drawings or models.
