Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking a Toolmaker I for the 2nd shift in Savannah to lay out and construct tooling from engineering drawings and sketches. You will set up tooling, perform material calculations, and use precision measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in a machine shop, and a valid driver’s license. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year machine shop experience and/or machine shop training at a Vocational Technical School.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and apply shop math; understanding Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate and assemble tooling.
• Perform simple calculations of material needs and other requirements.
• Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; check own work for conformance to specifications.
• Assist with tool prove out on new and reworked detail tooling.
• Repair and maintenance of tooling fixtures, scaffolding, dollies, hoists and test equipment.
• Conduct visual and periodic inspections and proof loads on tooling.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Operate cart and forklift.
