Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Toolmaker to maintain, repair, and modify mold tooling assets on-site in Newberry, SC. You will disassemble, assemble, and repair injection molds and stamping dies, and operate shop equipment to support production.

The role requires hands-on skills with lathe, mill, grinder and TIG welding, plus ability to troubleshoot at the press and mentor PM Techs and apprentices. On-site work with physical requirements is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in machine tool technology or related apprenticeship.
• 1–7 years Toolmaker experience (level 1–6) or 8+ years as Senior Toolmaker.
• Basic machine shop operation and tooling knowledge; overhead crane and forklift experience.
• Ability to work independently with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physically capable of standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and varied movements.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, assemble and repair injection molds and stamping dies.
• Operate machine shop equipment including lathe, milling machine and grinders.
• Troubleshoot mold tooling issues at the press; mentor PM Techs and Apprentices.

Ability to work with large tonnage injection molds and progressive stamping dies.Ability to troubleshoot problems at the press.Mentoring and teaching PM Techs and Apprentices.**Skills and Qualifications**1. Education: Associate Degree in Machine Tool Technology, Apprenticeship Training or OJT (on the job training). 2. Experience: Toolmaker level 1-6 = 1-7 years experience, Senior Toolmaker 1-4 = 8 plus years experience. 3. Knowledge: Basic machine shop operation, Basic knowledge of tooling design and function.
