Job summary

Manar-Inc-Custom-Injection-Molding-Manufacture seeks a Tool Maker to repair and maintain a variety of molds and fixtures. You will read blueprints/CAD files, operate a Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder, and support tool room equipment with CAD/CAM workflows.

The role requires mold building and machining experience, apprentice-trained candidates preferred, and a strong focus on safety and shop organization.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:Tool Maker is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairing a variety of molds and fixtures. Additional tasks involve providing support for tool room equipment operations and use of 2D/3D mold files on the computer. CNC responsibilities include: Programming/ Operating CNC machine as requiredPOSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Repair molds as needed, repair or build jigs and fixtures as required.Inspects completed molds for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect the molds functionality.Read and understand blueprints and CAD files.Operate a Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder.Uses computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints as required.Keep all shop machinery clean, maintained and in proper working order.Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.Performs other related duties as assigned.All other duties assignedEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredSuccessful completion of an apprentice program or experience in the field recommendedMold building and machining experience required.CNC operating and programming experience preferred.Common operating systemsSoftware proficiencyTechnical writingKNOWLEDGEAdvanced troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding of safety and equipment proceduresOverhead hoist operation and safety regulations required for mold repair and PM’sStandard Mold Preventive maintenance and repairs.SKILLS & ABILITIESExcellent verbal and written communicationOperation of Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Strong analytical and problem-solvingOTHER REQUIREMENTSOccasional WeekendsWORK ENVIRONMENT:Exposed to work in manufacturing /machining area settings with exposure to oil, coolant, and metal residuesIntermittent exposure to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortableRequires long periods of standing.At times, work is completed in a manufacturing facility requiring appropriate protective equipment at all timesPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Prolonged periods of walking, reaching, crouching, twisting, lifting, pushing, standing and sitting at a desk working on a computerLift and carry a maximum of 45 poundsWear protective eyewear and/or other protective gear correctly
