Role Overview

Safran, an international high-tech group operating in aerospace (propulsion, equipment, interiors), space, and defense, is seeking a Tooling & Testing Manager. Safran Cabin designs and manufactures innovative cabin interiors and systems, ensuring safety and comfort for passengers globally.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the specification, design, manufacture, and maintenance of tools and testing equipment to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain tooling and testing procedures at Safran WWS.
  3. Manage tooling and testing equipment on production lines, ensuring operational continuity and timely product verification.
  4. Develop and oversee maintenance, repair, calibration, and spare parts inventory protocols to maximize equipment efficiency.
  5. Support new product development and transfer projects, including space and environmental requirements.
  6. Maintain drawings, 3D models, and configuration management to ensure safety and efficiency.
  7. Manage procurement and services for in-house fabrication and suppliers of tooling and testing equipment.
  8. Create and communicate operating instructions and training for technicians.
  9. Support continuous improvement initiatives for safety, efficiency, and error-proofing of tooling and testing equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in aerospace or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical tooling design.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, Power BI, MES, and LabView.
  • Previous leadership or team management experience.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).
