Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Test Tooling & Mechatronics Engineer to design, build, and commission mechanical systems and automation for high-throughput hardware validation. You will own fixtures, robotics handling, and control electronics from concept to factory integration.

You will collaborate with RF, thermal, and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable test infrastructure, using GD&T, FEA, and precision metrology to ensure repeatability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics or related field.
• Knowledge of CAD/FEA tools, trends, and DFM principles.
• 3+ years in mechanical design and industrial automation with robotics experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD (NX preferred) and PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
• Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability principles.
• Experience programming industrial robots and integrating machine-vision systems.
• Experience with PLC programming, control panel design, and industrial communication.
• Experience with precision metrology tools (laser trackers, CMMs).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated handling systems with robots and fixtures.
• Program and integrate robots and machine-vision for high-precision sequences.
• Create ergonomic tooling and fixtures applying GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Develop control electronics and automation architectures using PLCs/SCADA.
• Perform structural and thermal FEA to validate designs before fabrication.
• Maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs in NX/Teamcenter.
• Operate precision metrology equipment to verify alignment and repeatability.
• Manage lab layout, equipment installation, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Project-manage design efforts end-to-end including budgeting and scheduling.
• Develop automated pipelines and OT/IT integration in a satellite manufacturing environment.
