Job summary

Sea Fox Boats is seeking a skilled Tooling Technician at Clement's Ferry to build molds, plugs, jigs, and tooling for boat production. This hands-on role requires precision in epoxy work, foam shaping, woodworking, and welding to create production-ready components.

You will work with epoxy resins, fiberglass, and a variety of shop tools, ensuring parts meet strict quality and safety standards while supporting a collaborative production team.

Qualifications

• Experience with epoxy, composites, fiberglass, or boat building.
• Hands-on mechanical and fabrication skills.
• Experience with grinders, sanders, table saws, and other tools.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, laminate schedules, and specs.
• Experience with epoxy composite layup or epoxy pasting.
• Ability to safely work with fiberglass, epoxies, resins, and catalysts.
• Welding experience; MIG/TIG preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
• Communication with supervisors and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate jigs, plugs, fixtures, and structural components for boat production.
• Operate woodworking machinery and power tools to shape components.
• Cut and shape EPS foam using hot-wire equipment for hulls and tooling.
• Combine foam shaping with woodworking and composites to produce parts.
• Prepare surfaces and apply fiberglass with epoxy resins.
• Measure and apply epoxy paste, resins, and catalysts per specs.
• Safely use epoxy pasting equipment for accurate application.
• Perform composite layup and related finishing to produce tooling.
• Read blueprints and welding prints; perform MIG/TIG welding as needed.
• Set up and operate welding equipment; measure and finish components.
