Job summary

Mackie Search, LLC is seeking a hands-on Tooling Technician in Las Vegas to maintain and repair molds used in production. Hours are 8am–5pm with overtime as needed.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and a safety-first mindset. You will perform mold PMs, teardowns, and repairs, with on-call duties and potential welding training during the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus.
• Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on maintenance or tooling experience.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Crane operation experience or willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• LOTO safety practices knowledge.
• Welding experience not required but to be developed.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM on molds and oversee maintenance tasks.
• Conduct mold teardowns, inspections and reassembly.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Carry out manifold repairs as needed.
• Use milling and lathe machines for tooling tasks.
• Operate cranes to move tooling components safely.
• Follow LOTO procedures and safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized tooling workspace.
• Develop welding skills within the first year (training provided).
• Provide low-voltage electrical troubleshooting as needed.
• Be available for on-call tooling emergencies outside normal hours.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on and mechanically skilled and motivated Tooling Technician to join our team.

This role is critical to our operations and will play a major part in maintaining and repairing molds essential to our production process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Hours:

• 8am to 5pm (plus OT when business conditions warrant)

Requirements

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on molds
• Conduct complete mold teardowns, inspections, and reassembly
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Perform manifold repairs
• Use manual mills and lathes for machining tasks (experience is a plus).
• Operate and safely utilize cranes to lift and move tooling components.
• Always Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized tooling workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
• Develop welding skills within the first year of employment (training will be provided).
• Provide low-voltage electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed (preferred).
• Be available for an on-call schedule for tooling related emergencies outside of normal working hours.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
• Proven mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in a maintenance or tooling role.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Crane operation experience or willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, particularly in relation to LOTO procedures.
• Welding experience is not required but will be expected to be developed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Low-voltage electrical experience or knowledge.
• Experience in an injection molding environment is a plus
