Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Tooling Technician to join our team onsite in Wahpeton, North Dakota. You will prepare and maintain tooling for production runs, ensuring tools meet exact specifications and are ready ahead of schedules.

This role supports manufacturing efficiency and product quality in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in manufacturing, strong measurement and shop floor skills (calipers, dial indicators), and familiarity with AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Auto CAD experience preferred.
  • Experience with calipers, dial indicators, protectors, squares, rulers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble all tooling for upcoming production runs prior to need, including back-up tooling.
  • Coordinate and lead improvements within the tooling department.
  • Ensure quality procedures are followed and standard work is maintained.
  • Understand machine operations to determine how customer products should be made.
  • Collaborate with teammates to support production efficiency and quality.

Quanex is looking for aTooling Technician - to join our team located onsite in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

Put your technical expertise to work where precision matters. As a key member of our team, you'll prepare and maintain the tooling needed to manufacture high-quality products that meet our customers' exact requirements. Your work will directly support production efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.

Salary: $21.00 to $27.00 per hour, starting wage varies based on your experience

Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., overtime as business requires.

  • Cooperates with and supports co-workers and gets involved as a team player.
Your Credentials:
  • High School education or equivalent required
  • 3+ years' manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Auto Cad experience, preferred
  • Experience with calipers, dial indicators, protectors, squares, rulers, etc.
