Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Tooling Specialist to support production by ensuring machinery, equipment and accessories operate reliably. You will work with engineering and maintenance to machine components to the highest quality prior to installation in production equipment.

The role requires mastery of conventional lathes, manual mills and high-precision surface grinders, strong shop math, reading 2D drawings, and adherence to safety standards. Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years as a toolmaker or machinist in a manual conventional toolroom.
• In machine shop or machining technology certification is a plus.
• Mastery of conventional lathes, mills and high-precision surface grinders; no CNC required.

Responsibilities

• Support production by ensuring machinery and equipment operate reliably.
• Machine components to the highest quality prior to installation.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, breakdowns, improvements, guarding and retrofits.
• Follow safety standards and read mechanical drawings and models.
