Job summary

A manufacturing company in Tucson, Arizona is seeking an experienced machinist to set up and operate a variety of manual machines including Mills and Lathes, perform assembly and disassembly of fixtures, and verify quality of work to specifications. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of relevant experience and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 7 years recent experience in Tool and Die or Journeyman Machinist occupation.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Ability to work from blueprints.
• Ability to set up and operate conventional Toolroom machines.
• Ability to perform work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Sets up and operates a variety of manual machines, such as Mills, Lathes, Surface Grinders & EDM Machines. Performs assembly and disassembly of fixtures, dies, templates, molds, etc. Works from blueprints, sketches, verbal and written instructions. Fabricates parts from start to finish using a variety of machines. Verifies quality of work to specifications using standard inspection equipment. CNC knowledge is a plus.

Required Skills

• 7 years recent experience in Tool and Die or Journeyman Machinist occupation


• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing


• Ability to work from blueprints


• Ability to set up and operate conventional Toolroom machines, mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc.
