Job summary

ACME Industries in Elk Grove Village, IL is hiring a Tool Crib Attendant for the 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift. You will assemble, preset, and stage cutting tools and consumables to support second-shift machining operations, ensuring tooling is accurate, labeled, and ready before jobs begin.

You will work with machinists and setup technicians to meet live production needs, maintain inventory, and keep the crib organized and OSHA-compliant for a smooth, on-time workflow.

Qualifications

• Shift availability 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.
• Experience in a manufacturing/machining environment.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools (inserts, end mills, drills, holders).
• Ability to read and interpret job setup sheets or tooling instructions.
• Strong organizational skills; crib accuracy matters.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and preset cutting tools according to job setup sheets; verify assemblies are correct, labeled, and staged before production begins.
• Coordinate with 2nd shift machinists and setup technicians to ensure tooling is ready ahead of each job start.
• Respond quickly to live tooling requests during production; replenish tools without delays.
• Record tool transactions in the tool tracking/ERP system (M2M) and maintain crib layout.
• Keep the crib clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant throughout the shift.
