Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling is properly supplied to production and drive tooling improvements. You will act as the link between tooling engineering and production, maintaining equipment, testing tooling, and supporting capital tooling projects.

Ideal candidates have STEM education or equivalent experience, plus hands-on tooling and aircraft manufacturing familiarity.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing preferred.
• Tooling selection and application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design and GD&T understanding.
• Proficient in Excel and reporting; CAD is a plus.
• Able to operate machining/measurement equipment and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools in each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications; performance testing.
• Investigate tooling issues and propose countermeasures.
• Assist with new tooling designs and capital projects installation.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards and company values.
