Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness in the production system and to drive tooling improvements. You will be the link between tooling engineering and the production team, auditing tools, supporting studies, and testing tooling performance.

Ideal candidates have STEM education or equivalent experience, familiarity with GD&T, and proficiency in Excel reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience.
• 2+ years of technical/aircraft assembly experience is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing.
• Basic tooling design knowledge.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues with countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and aerospace quality regs awareness.
• GD&T understanding; proficiency with Excel reporting.
• CAD software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of tooling upgrades.
• Support a people-first culture aligned with Saab values.
• Assist assemblers with proper/safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
