Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a tooling/fixture engineer to design production tooling and fixtures for fabrication and assembly. You will own fixtures from concept through proving, perform tolerance studies, and ensure repeatable, safe operation on the shop floor.

You will implement mistake-proofing in designs, adapt quickly to product changes, and contribute to lifting device and weld fixture standards as a bonus. This is an onsite Austin, TX role with a focus on quality and process reliability.

Qualifications

• Designed production tooling and fixtures in fabrication or assembly.
• Uses tolerance analysis to ensure fixtures hold tolerances at rate.
• Provides capability studies rather than eyeballing results.
• Implements mistake-proofing in the design process.
• Adapts designs quickly when product changes.
• Bonus: Weld fixture design or lifting device standards.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and fixtures for the factory.
• Own fixtures from concept through proving, incl. tolerance studies.
• Manage tooling lifecycle: maintenance, calibration, revisions.
• Design for operator: fast loading, safe handling.
