Tooling Engineer: Design & Launch Production Fixtures

Job summary

Multimatic is seeking an experienced tooling engineer to lead the design and launch of fixtures and tooling for current and future programs. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure on-time deliveries and cost efficiencies.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with tooling design, assembly fixtures, and experience in stamping environments. Travel may be required and TS16949/ISO standards must be followed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering experience in manufacturing.
• 5+ years’ experience with assembly operations.
• Five years previous experience in cold stamping; hot stamping a plus.
• Experience with design, development and implementation of assembly fixtures & tooling.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of associates.
• Travel required.

Responsibilities

• Provide input and direction in sourcing, design, construction, PPAP and Launch of new tools, fixtures and equipment for future programs and current changes.
• Assist Tool-Room personnel and/or vendors in solving problems arising from production processes and launches.
• Estimate, schedule and execute engineering changes of tooling and coordinate with PM, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance.
• Provide technical support for product development and design.
• Use technology on new and current processes and tools to meet customer specs.
• Establish new sourcing methods for tooling to improve capability and cost effectiveness.
• Work with production to implement Poka-Yoke methods.
