Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking a skilled machinist for the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm) in Savanna, IL. You will operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate precision parts, read blueprints, set up machines, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You should have at least 1 year of machining experience and a High School diploma or equivalent. Compensation includes hourly pay with a shift premium and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Reads and applies blueprints and engineering specs.
• Sets up, maintains, and services manual machines.
• Ensures tolerances and dimensions meet spec.
• Communicates issues to leadership promptly.
• Contributes to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual machining equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts.
• Apply blueprints and specs to achieve correct dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up, maintain, and service machines for safe, efficient operation.
• Notify leadership of machine issues or nonconforming parts to speed resolution.
• Assist in training less experienced team members and take on other duties as needed.
