Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tapping Deflection Operator on the 2nd shift at our Savanna, Illinois manufacturing facility. You will operate assigned mechanical equipment, verify product quality, perform first-piece inspections, and make basic adjustments to support safe, efficient production.

Training on the 1st shift for up to six months precedes the regular 2nd-shift schedule, with a pay range of $16.00–$19.00 per hour plus a $2 shift differential; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience required.
  • Experience setting up and operating machinery for complex tasks.
  • Machine-operation and precision-measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and directions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
  • Basic math skills and accurate documentation.

  • Use basic measuring instruments to check product dimensions and quality.

Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tapping Deflection Operator - 2nd Shift at our Savanna, Illinois manufacturing facility. In this role, you will operate assigned mechanical equipment, verify product quality, complete inspections, and make basic equipment adjustments to support safe, efficient production. You will train on 1st shift for up to six months before transitioning to the regular 2nd-shift schedule.

  • Location: Savanna, IL
  • Work Arrangement: On-site
  • Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM; training on 1st shift for up to 6 months, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM
  • Pay: $16.00-$19.00/hour, depending on experience
  • Other Compensation: $2 shift differential
  • Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
  • Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
What You’ll Do as a Tapping Deflection Operator

What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Solid experience with the setup and operation of machinery, including applying that knowledge to complex tasks.
  • Machine-operation and precision-measurement skills.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to complete documentation accurately.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, pushing and pulling objects up to 50 pounds, and frequent bending and stooping. The position also requires the dexterity to handle small objects and the ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment.
