Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join the Sentry Manufacturing team. You will lead tooling development for fixtures, jigs, gauges, and assembly aids to enable safe, repeatable production of advanced defense hardware.

You will own tooling design execution, validation, supplier coordination, and documentation. This role requires hands-on experience with CAD (SolidWorks/NX), GD&T, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in tooling or manufacturing engineering for electromechanical/defense products.
• Design and validation of fixtures, jigs, and gauges for precision assembly/inspection.
• Knowledge of tooling materials, machining, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and metrology fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead tooling development from concept through production with fixtures, jigs, gauges, and assembly aids.
• Own tooling design execution, validation, supplier coordination, and issue resolution.
• Develop and refine detailed tooling design documentation (CAD models, drawings, specs, work instructions).
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to ensure tooling feasibility and readiness.
• Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T, and Value Engineering to balance precision, ergonomics, manufacturability, durability, and cost.
