Job summary

Stellantis NV seeks a Tooling Engineer in Kokomo, IN to own the complete tooling process for production parts. You will manage tooling, equipment, and installation, and drive quality improvements through Kaizens and engineering changes.

You will work with cross-functional teams to determine requirements, procure tools, specify equipment, and plan capacity, start dates, and changeovers. English communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent BS in a related technical discipline and/or Journeyman status with at least 5 years manufacturing experience.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• English language competency with good communication skills.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to work any shift, weekends and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Determine complete tooling requirements to produce world class parts with cost estimates and vendor quotes.
• Procure all required tooling and equipment.
• Specify machine types, tooling, fixtures, and gauges for each operation.
• Determine take time and pieces per hour capacity.
• Assist in design of special tools and coordinate equipment installation.
• Manage engineering changes for production parts after launch.
• Provide time studies for labor cost estimates and planning for start/change dates and capacity.
• Investigate production issues and work with team leaders to drive improvements.
• Apply Kaizens and other quality tools to drive continuous quality improvements.
• Engage in early engineering to define tooling for complex operations on parts/assemblies.
• Complete general process engineering duties and complex projects.
