Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Palmdale, CA seeks a Tooling Engineer for a 12-month contract onsite. You will coordinate design and fabrication of tools and fixtures with customers and our internal teams.

The role requires Catia design skills, GD&T and knowledge of castings, stampings and turned components; you will develop test plans, improve processes and help manufacturability of new products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Catia design experience with 3D modeling and detailing.
• Familiar with ANSI/ISO detailed drawing standards.
• Experience in designing castings, stampings, and turned components.
• GD&T knowledge to apply drawing rules.
• Strong writing and communication of technical details.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers.
• Coordinate/develop & execute test plans.
• Develop & evaluate process improvements.
• Assist Product Development Team with new product designs for manufacturability.
• Develop manufacturing processes, plans, and procedures for tool fabrication.
• Manage all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, and validate.
