Job summary

Varstaff Staffing is seeking an Engineer - Manufacturing Tooling II/III to support a private rocket program at Cape Canaveral, FL. The role involves designing tooling for assembly and material handling, delivering CAD models, and managing tooling projects from concept through commissioning.

The position requires a BS in engineering, Creo/Windchill CAD experience, and 3+ years in manufacturing tooling, with US eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience in tooling design, fabrication and procurement.
CAD experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill.
GD&T knowledge and basic hand calculations.
3+ years of direct manufacturing experience.
US citizen, green card holder, refugee or asylee.

Responsibilities

Design tooling for the New Glenn program: assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers and custom machinery.
Create CAD models and drawings per ASME Y14.5.
Manage tooling projects end to end: concept, vendor selection, procurement, fabrication, inspection, installation, proof testing and commissioning.
Perform root cause analysis on tooling and manufacturing issues.
