The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250.03 - $117,700.04. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do

As a Tooling Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and maintaining tooling used in our manufacturing process. You will supervise and develop our Tool and Die Department, promoting a culture of quality, Lean implementation, and continuous improvement to drive change. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department leaders to support manufacturing strategies that improve safety, quality, delivery, and reduce variation.

In This Role You Will
  • Design and develop stamping tooling: create strip layouts, simulations, die construction, and press specifications.
  • Construct progressive dies and tools for steel outlet box production.
  • Implement maintenance and repair programs to ensure tooling performance and longevity.
  • Inspect completed parts for accuracy and quality, adhering to standards.
  • Identify and resolve problems to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and master die makers to improve designs and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track and report tooling program progress from sourcing to production readiness.
Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years designing complex, progressive stamping dies.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with lean manufacturing tools (VSM, 5S, Std Work, Set-Up Reduction, etc.).
  • Experience with Servo Press.
  • Knowledge of die sensors, vision inspection, and related technology.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 audits.
  • Troubleshooting stamping operations.
  • Understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of Wire EDM and CNC machining technologies.
  • Knowledge of tool steels and applications.
