Quanex is looking for a Tool Room Technician for 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, in Owatonna, Minnesota. The starting hourly rate is $28.50, including a $2.50 shift differential.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying metal stamping dies, jogs, and fixtures to ensure quality production with minimal machine downtime.

What Success Looks Like:

• Overhauling, repairing, and reassembling dies and molds to meet standards; sharpening punches and dies; replacing defective parts; correcting timing; troubleshooting operational issues.
• Troubleshooting die breakdowns or quality problems during production.
• Modifying and debugging new metal tooling for proper machine operation and quality output.
• Operating machinist tools and inspection equipment safely.
• Collaborating with teams to ensure seamless operations.

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant training/experience.
• At least two years’ experience in a tool room or current Vo-Tech program enrollment.
• Knowledge of metal stamping dies, die casting tools, and related machinery for maintenance.
