AmesburyTruth is an industry leader in window and door component manufacturing in Owatonna, MN. We pride ourselves on being collaborative and inclusive. We are currently looking for a Tool Room Technician to join our team on 2nd shift, with working hours Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

Starting rate begins at $26.00 per hour and will be determined based on experience. 2nd & 3rd shifts will receive an additional $2.50 per hour.

Position Purpose

  • Maintain, repair, and modify metal stamping dies, jigs, and fixtures to facilitate quality production with a minimum of machine downtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, repair, and reassemble dies and molds to meet production standards and schedules; sharpen punches and dies, replace defective parts, correct timing, and address other operating issues.
  • Troubleshoot die breakdowns or other quality problems to restore production quickly.
  • Modify and debug new metal tooling for proper machine function and quality parts production.
  • Perform machining tasks for making or repairing machine parts or tooling, ensuring careful handling to prevent damage.
  • Operate various machinist tools and inspection equipment skillfully, including surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, saws, micrometers, surface plates, and gage blocks.
  • Grind or sharpen dies, drills, taps, gear hob cutters, and other tools.
  • Maintain lubrication levels in grinders and other tool room machines.
  • Report machine malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
