Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC machines, ensuring precise tooling and fixtures. The role focuses on maintaining accuracy, reducing downtime, and supporting production with high-quality parts.

Ideal candidates will have strong blueprint knowledge, GD&T expertise, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment, with a GED or high school diploma. CAD/CAM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

3–7+ years experience in tool room or precision machining environment.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
Experience with tight tolerance machining.
Proficient in manual machining (critical in tool room environment).
CNC setup experience preferred.
Knowledge of tool steels, heat treating, and surface finishes.
Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
GED or high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual machines (lathe, mill, surface grinder, drill press, etc.).
Set up CNC mills and/or lathes (prove out programs, set offsets, adjust tooling).
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
Manufacture and repair fixtures, dies, jigs, and special tooling.
Hold tight tolerances (.0005" or as required).
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
Assist with tooling design modifications.
Maintain tool room organization and equipment.
Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
