MacLean-Fogg in Savanna, IL is seeking a Tool Room Machinist. This role involves interpreting blueprints, operating lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts to specified tolerances.

You will set up, test, and maintain equipment, ensuring safe, efficient production and quality standards. The position is hourly, full-time, on 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11:00pm) with a $2.00/hour shift premium.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Tool Room Machinist interprets blueprints, operates and maintains equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts which meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Responsible for the setup, testing, and adjustment of machines, ensuring smooth operation and efficiency in the production process. This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise, precision, and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards of quality.

• Position Type: Hourly, Full Time
• Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 2:30pm - 11:00pm
• Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience, Plus, $2.00/hour shift premium for 2nd shift
• Work Location: HF (7034 IL Route 84, Savanna, IL 61074)
• Reports to: Tooling Manager

What You Will Do as a Tool Room Machinist

• Operate mechanical equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances
• Set up, maintain, and service equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Help train less experienced team members
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps
• History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations
