MacLean‑Fogg is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to interpret blueprints, operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders, and fabricate precision parts. The role requires setup, testing, and maintenance of equipment to ensure quality and efficiency on the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm).

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of machining and blueprint reading experience. A reliable attendance record is essential.

Job Summary

The Tool Room Machinist interprets blueprints, operates and maintains equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts which meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Responsible for the setup, testing, and adjustment of machines, ensuring smooth operation and efficiency in the production process. This is a hands‑on position that requires technical expertise, precision, and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Job Details

• Position Type: Hourly, Full Time
• Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 2:30pm – 11:00pm
• Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience
• Plus, $2.00/hour shift premium for 2nd shift
• Work Location: HF (7034 IL Route 84, Savanna, IL 61074)
• Reports to: Tooling Manager

What You Will Do as a Tool Room Machinist

• Operate mechanical equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances
• Set up, maintain, and service equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Help train less experienced team members
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
