MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Tool Room Machinist for the Savanna, IL facility on 2nd shift. You will read blueprints, set up lathes, milling machines and grinders, and fabricate or repair precision parts to meet tight tolerances.

You will operate, inspect, and maintain equipment, and assist in training teammates to uphold safety and quality. Ideal candidates have 1+ year of machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of machining and blueprint reading experience within a metal manufacturing environment.
• Know and articulate what “making chips” means.
• Steady work history with reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs to ensure dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up, maintain, and service equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution.
• Train less experienced team members and support continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for the setup, testing, and adjustment of machines, ensuring smooth operation and efficiency in the production process.
