Delphinus Engineering, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Laborer/Tool Room Attendant to manage the tool room, inventory, and calibration processes. The role supports production teams by ensuring tools are safe, calibrated, and properly stored, while coordinating with vendors and shop staff

The candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with project managers, technicians, and external vendors to maintain accurate records and efficient tool room operations.

Qualifications

• Work experience in tool room operations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Punctual, reliable, and detail oriented
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Basic knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain
• Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR
• High school diploma and US citizenship
• Must pass background check and drug screen

Responsabilités

• Maintain custody, control, and maintenance of tools and equipment while in storage
• Receive and inspect tools when returned from project teams
• Ensure tools are safe, calibrated as required, and with safety guards
• Maintain secured, organized tool storage and calibration status
• Purchase new tools as needed and initiate survey forms for replacements
• Conduct regular inventory of tools and equipment and update master list
• Track tool location by job number, employee, and storage location
• Coordinate with management for procurement of deficient items
• Provide calibration due date notifications and coordinate with labs
• Support shop and production teams with equipment needs and troubleshooting
• Maintain clean tool room and participate in continuous improvement programs
