Job summary

MiTek is seeking a skilled Tool Room/Tool & Die Machinist to support stamping operations by fabricating, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting tooling and die components. The role focuses on maintaining production efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability while working with lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, machine precision components, and assist with die maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Journeyman Machinist certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum 5 years of machining and tool room experience.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments and machine shop equipment.
Stamping die experience and maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manufacture tooling, die components, and replacement parts from blueprints or specs.
Repair and restore worn tooling, dies, and components to original specs.
Operate lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and other machining equipment.
Inspect parts using precision instruments to ensure quality.
Support die teardown, troubleshooting, repair, and assembly.
Maintain die maintenance records and documentation.
Suggest improvements to methods, tooling, and equipment reliability.
