Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Tool Maker II to build and repair precision tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment on site in New York. You will work with Manufacturing, Automation, and Design Engineering to deliver tooling solutions that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Knowledge of GD&T requirements and precision tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities in tooling.
• Experience with machining processes including milling, turning, grinding, fitting, assembly.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specs for tooling manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and fit production tooling, fixtures, gauges from drawings.
• Repair and modify tooling to support production and reliability.
• Operate manual and CNC machines to fabricate components.
• Support production by addressing tooling issues and reducing downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering and automation teams to develop tooling solutions.
• Support automation projects by fabricating components and robotic tooling.
• Verify tooling dimensions with precision measuring tools.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions for tooling failures.
• Maintain safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost.
