Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to fabricate and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will use machining equipment, drawings, and specifications to produce precision tooling that supports operations and quality standards.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, planning layouts, setting up machines, verifying part conformity, and developing prototype tooling when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certificate in CIMM or related industrial technology preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a tool room with a related technical certificate.
  • 5+ years of tool room experience without a related technical certificate.
  • Experience fabricating, modifying, and repairing tooling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to write and modify CNC programs.

Partnering with the best

As a Tool & Die Maker, you are fabricating and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in accordance with company manufacturing procedures and safety policies. You are utilizing machining equipment, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to produce precision tooling that supports manufacturing operations. You are collaborating with production and engineering teams to develop prototype components, improve tooling capabilities, and ensure manufacturing processes remain safe, efficient, and reliable.

As a Tool & Die Maker, you are being responsible for:

  • Determining materials and machines needed to fabricate parts according to specifications.

  • Computing dimensions, planning layouts, and determining assembly methods and sequences of operations for fabrication activities.

  • Setting up and operating required machines to successfully and safely fabricate components.

  • Complying with company productivity, quality, and safety requirements.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Have a Certificate in CIMM or a related industrial technology discipline preferred.

  • Have 3+ years of experience in a tool room with a related technical certificate.

  • Have 5+ years of tool room experience without a related technical certificate.

  • Have experience fabricating, modifying, and repairing tooling in a manufacturing environment.

  • Have demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Have intermediate math and reading skills.

  • Have working knowledge of lathes, mills, and other industrial equipment used in the machine shop.

  • Have the ability to write and modify CNC programs.

  • Have basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Have sufficient motor skills to successfully and safely use required tools and machinery.

  • Have the ability to stand and/or walk for the majority of a scheduled shift, typically 8-10 hours per day, though possibly longer when overtime is required.

  • Have the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

  • Have the ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and safety shoes.

  • Have the ability and willingness to work overtime, including alternate shifts and weekends, as required by business needs.
